Blepharoplasty |
This surgery can be performed in an outpatient surgery center or as an office procedure under straight local anesthesia. Incisions are typically made in the skin overlying the eyelids and usually heal beautifully with minimal scarring. Occasionally the lower eyelid incision is made inside the lower eyelid when only fat needs to be removed. Recovery from blepharoplasty is fairly rapid. Bruising around the eyelids is common and usually resolves within a week or two. The swelling from the surgery also takes a week or so to resolve but most patients are comfortable going back to work within 7-10 days.
