Care of your
skin and management of common skin conditions is an important part of
any plastic surgeon's practice. We have a licensed aesthetician in our
office who assists Dr. Duffy in providing excellence in skin care. There
are a wide variety of treatments that range from facials to chemical
peels to facelifting and other surgical approaches to rejuvenating the
face.
An important part of managing the skin includes the initial interview and assessment of the patient's problem. Following this, a good skin care program will be initiated. Smoking cessation and sun avoidance or a good sunblock will be paramount to success in this program.
Treatment of skin conditions usually will consist of initiation of a good home skin care program in conjunction with other approaches such as Retin-A, Kinerase, Glycolic Acid treatment, skin peels in the office, and surgical procedures if patients wish to pursue these.
